This is a cake I made for my boyfriend for his birthday and if you cant guess, his a fan of Stargate and this is the Stargate. Sorry about all the mess behind but I did this about three years ago and didn't think I would be creating a cooking blog at the time lol.

That's awesome!! How on earth did you ensemble that together? Lucky boyfriend :)
ReplyDeleteIt was quite a task, I had to make two cakes, one in a loaf tin the other in a normal round cake tin.
ReplyDeleteI cut a circle out of the round one and made the dial console out of the left over middle. I iced them both with icing sugar and drew the smybols with icing pen.
I then cut a section out of the loaf tin cake, big enough for the round stargate to sit in without falling. I iced that with choc butter icing and put choc shavings all over it to look like mud and put the stargate in it and butter iced it in.
It was a little stressfull, this was my first attempt at anything like this, I was suprised I did it xxxx
Please may we have the recipe for meatballs ;-) xx
